| Subject: | SDS Feedback |
Dear Peter,
Thanks very much for
your letter
on March 29 showing insightful consideration
of SDS and underlying theory in POIMS.
..
If time permits, you might comment further on the notion of a
Killer Application
in relation to the popularity of email, meetings and calls,
and the consequent demand for
intelligence support. Demand for avoiding mistakes caused by stream of
conscious communication and analysis
is not evident where there is no value at risk, like the OHS/DKR
discussion, but is strongly experienced at
Enron, in the
wider economy
and in
national security. Where value at risk is high,
conflict, crisis and calamity under the weight of continual
bumbling caused by meaning drift, grows demand to avoid loss, pain
and suffering. That is the theory for the business case to use SDS.
..
In any case, very much appreciated your feedback, and would like to hear
about your work and interests in KM.
Sincerely,
THE WELCH COMPANY
Rod Welch
