KM Cluster Taking Notice of Progress |
Dear Dave,
Thanks for
feedback in your letter
on June 9 and offering to dig into SDS,
POIMS and Com Metrics.
..
In a letter responding to John, there is some
"evidence" showing that SDS is an effective method
of capturing organizational
memory, organizing the record, adding analysis, alignment, summary connected to
detail and facilitating feedback to improve handling of daily working
information. While people sometimes get lost in jargon, the proof is in the
pudding. I have a tool that uniquely enables intelligence/knowledge work.
..
"Analysis" may correlate to what you call "narrative"; "organization"
may correlate to what you call "context." Not sure what you have in
mind by content, since you do not explain in your paper a distinction
between content and narrative.
..
In any event, if you have time to review the letter to John sent to
you today, and if you can give
POIMS
a once over, then if you still need help, let me know. I gave a
demonstration
to some IBM folks
on November 14, 1994
and they seemed to feel this was a better way of
doing things than they had at the time.
..
IBM later tried to get LN to do SDS stuff,
and this didn't work out
because KM is a pretty tough objective, as you point out in your
paper.
Thanks again for feedback. I enjoyed your paper.
..
Sincerely,
THE WELCH COMPANY
