0614 -
061401 - Received revised Medit that supposedly enters as a default the

061403 - command, which was created yesterday.
061404 -
061405 - Need to experiment with new medit and copy command.

0906 -
090601 - Morris configured Windows for me and explained how I can use SDS in a
090602 - window by selecting DOS and entering Alt space bar.
090603 -
090604 - We also used Windows to run the modem and transfer PCanywhere to him
090605 - while working on another task.
090606 -
090607 - Morris helped me configure Windows for modem operation. I have to
090608 - enter ata on the screen to answer his ring.
090609 -
090610 -
090611 - Make the windows config.sys a batch file.
090612 -
090613 - I think this can be run only when Windows is run.

1005 - Progress
1006 -
100601 - Successfully used this where I used anywhere, and Morris used aterm
100602 - and asend. Seems like I have to be in the anywhere dir to run it, but
100603 - aterm can be started from anywhere on the disk.
100604 -
100605 - We set up a configuration in Anywhere for Morris.
100606 -
100607 - It does not seem to work very well with Windows because of the large
100608 - amount of data that has to be sent for each screen.
100609 -
100610 - For SDS it seems to be fairly quick.
100611 -
100612 - Password
100613 -
100614 - Anywhere remote station must identify the person using Aterm with a
100615 - password. We used MOJO for Morris.

1105 - Progress
1106 -
110601 - Morris used this again to send me updated medit.asm files that
110602 - contain the corrected code.
110603 -
110604 - There are two commands: pkarc and pkxarx. The first is for
110605 - compression and the second uncompresses. The commands given without
110606 - params return instructions. The problem is that I tried this and did
110607 - not get the one instruction I recall Morris giving for umcompressing
110608 - the file he sent this morning:
110609 -
110610 - pkxarc -a [filename] [path][filename]
110611 -
110612 - When I tried this spec, it failed, but following worked:
110613 -
110614 - pkxarc -x [filename] [path]
110615 -
110616 - This was actually entered like this:
110617 -
110618 - pkxarc -x b248.arc c:\10
110619 -
110620 - Where b248.arc was a compressed file sent by Morris. I executed the
110621 - command from its directory, in this case c:\09. The target directory
110622 - is given without parameters. Presumably I could have given a command
110623 - like (notice a space is needed after the path ending delimiter):
110624 -
110625 - pkxarc -x b248.arc c:\10\ medit.asm
110626 -
110627 -
110628 -
110629 - Compression
110630 -
110631 - This is accomplished by the following:
110632 -
110633 - pkarc -a sds.arc c:\sd\01\*.*
110634 -
110635 - This puts all the files in sd 10 into a single file sds.arc.
110636 -
110637 - Unfortunately this cannot compress subdirectories so it does not help
110638 - us that much with distributing SDS. Since a good many Help files have
110639 - the same name in different directories the contents are lost in trying
110640 - to put them all in a single large file because they are overwritten.
