- Accepted price.
-
- Brad thinks they may be able to complete the work by this Friday,
- 000310. They need approval of their quote to order parts.
-
- ..
- Asked Brad about installing Windows 2000.
-
- Brad confirmed Eric's report on 000302 that W00 is more stable than
- W98. ref SDS 45 0117 He said stability is achieved in part by
- supporting fewer programs. Brad related his discussions with Eric
- that the programs we are running will be compatible, but we will not
- know for sure until we start booting stuff up. Since the main
- programs I use are SDS, Netscape and IE, we should be allright on
- compatibility.
-
- ..
- Brad recommends against using suspend mode.
-
- Intel promotes suspend mode as a power saving feature. Brad says it
- does not work correctly on a consistent basis, as evidenced by our
- experience. Actually on CPU10, we have had no problems the past 2
- years, until last night, when a similar problem occurred that crashed
- CPU11 last week. This crash was less severe. Brad feels the good
- experience using Suspend Mode on CPU10 is fortuitous.
-
- [On 000310 investigated Suspend Mode issues on Microsoft Support
- web site. ref SDS 51 3481]
-
- One common element is that we have had the HP ScanJet IIc scanner
- connected to both systems and it was not properly configured. Could
- be that it was sending signals or something that caused CPU10 to react
- similar to CPU11. Who knows???
- ..
- Submitted ref DIT 1 0001 approving the MCE quotation,
- ref DRP 2 0003, included with Brad's letter, ref DRP 2 0001, received
- yesterday. ref SDS 49 1400

- Brad has received my letter, ref DIT 1 0001, and has forwarded it to
