Discussion

1. JV team requested that FBA and SDE limit work in PG&E vault area pending final decision from client and studies currently underway by TEE.

2. FBA requested wind tunnel schedule of completion.

   JV team requested FBA proceed with design. If trouble areas discovered in study, team will address at that time.

3. Basement driveway will be lowered 3" due to elimination of mud slab and protection slab. Floor elevation at truck path "average" will be -4'-3". Kitchen floor elevation to remain as designed. Truck dock slab will be sloped 3"to edge.

Issues still pending:

1. Penetrations (for mechanical ducts) through structure at Brace line B were discussed. A&P confirmed (via phone conversation with IR during meeting) that 2'- 11" clear is not sufficient space for their ducts. SDE will lower bottom members of engaged trusses 6" min.

   Issue being finalized by A&P. Alan currently coordinating/verifying.

   JV team notified A&P of steel modification.

   A&P will verify if penetrations are sufficient.

2. Elevator framing was discussed. SDE confirmed framing diagrams had been sent to JV team.

   JV team requested modifications to steel tube sizes.

   KH team to provide sections and backgrounds to go to consultants 10/19/98.

   SDE confirmed requested tube dimensions are not feasible.

   SDE will provide possible sizes for IR/JV team.

3. All parties discussed framing concepts for the Howard Street entry plaza. SDE suggests extending basement walls to perimeter of plaza stairs. After additional discussion at the September 24 meeting, this option was agreed upon by all parties.

   At 10/1/98 meeting, SDE and FBA still coordinating.

4. CC requested coordination between FBA and SDE for column locations in the basement.

   FBA and SDE have coordinated. Electrical engineering coordination (associated with NW corner electrical room) still pending. KH team to complete by 10/5/98.

6. Elevator shaft/elevator machine room framing to be resolved this week.

   CC requested steel framing member and column sizes (at elevators) and sketches from SDE by the end of the week.

7. Stair sections incorporating structure, verifying head clearances, and locating railing to be done by JV team (KHA) and forwarded to FBA and SDE.

8. JV team showed SDE ceiling hook location options.

   All hooks on 11'-3" grid to coordinate with main structural elements.

9. JV team and SDE reviewed framing at mechanical shafts on Minna Street.

   SDE would like to relocate framing to grid lines or slightly off center (within the flange of the column).

   Still pending at 10/1/meeting: "in progress" stair and louver study will determine framing locations.

   JV team will study stair and shaft layout further.

   Direction on framing to be provided to SDE as soon as possible.

10. With Paoletti present, SDE and JV team verified the thickened slab is required over the chiller room for sound dampening.

    Electrical floor boxes, currently sheet metal should be concrete, similar to plumbing boxes.

    Thickened slab issued not resolved. Verification of required weight, with Paoletti, still to occur.(150 v. 75 psf.)

    CC sent letter to RJA for code/fire rating interpretation.

11. CC recommends suspended elevator pits to be concrete.

12. FBA provided a detail illustrating the transition between the sandwich slab and the composite mat and topping slab.

    JV team will create plan diagram showing extent of sandwich slab vs. composite slab.

    Above information to be used in generating a cost study of the proposed alternate.

    FBA suggested a reduction in the 2'-6" rock section as a reduction alternate in lieu of eliminating the rock entirely.

13. FBA proposed options for clarifying the support of the north pre-function window wall. Connections between the window wall frame and the gravity column will be slotted.

14. Currently there is no direction structurally for the exterior wall near the existing mechanical building.

15. Thermal expansion, related to the 100 degree figures provided by A&P, would translate to 2 1/2" of building "expansion" over the full width of the building (along 4th Street).
