Subject:   Intelligence Opportunity

Dear Jeff,

I agree that we both have a good grasp of the problem to be solved by KM. I, also, think that SDS provides work product that demonstrates a powerful, unique solution, that can be grasped by customers when properly presented.

There is never a good time to help people improve earnings. When times are bad, folks don't have enough time to learn about pumps, because they are too busy bailing water out of the boat. When the sun is shining, people say "Hey, we don't need to improve, look at our bank account." So, in terms of a seminar, now is as good a time as any, but I take your point.

There is great despair in hi-tech, because designing technology that is useful for thinking, remembering and communicating is counterintuitive. It is not clear that anyone else is close to SDS.

My guess is that people are ready for a seminar to solve the problems caused by lack of intelligence support, as seen from discussions with DOD rep on July 12, 2001 that shows significant despair about the prospects Information Technology can solve these problems.

Answering your question, yes: SDS implements POIMS for performing Com Metrics, as seen in Welch work product. There is an explanation in the record on October 11, 2001.

Links should go forward, and clicking back should return to the prior location, so if you run into a snag, please let me know.

Here is some recent communication that addresses the national security issue, as well as applying intelligence to enterprise. If you have time, you might note the opportunity for helping organizations and people adopt "continual learning" as a meaningful core competency. This has an education component, a consultant component and product sales component that might be of interest....

One way to monetize this is to provide Com Metrics support services on a contingent fee basis. Experience shows that the amount of mistakes that occur under present practice using email, meetings and calls provides a huge pool of waste and loss that can be recouped in industry and government, as reported by USACE.

Let me know if this sounds attractive.

Thanks for keeping touch.

Sincerely,

THE WELCH COMPANY
