Subject:   Quality Critical for Marketing

Dear Dick,

Thanks for the heads up in your letter today pointing out mistakes in a recent marketing initiative. I made corrections and re-submitted as an illustration of the "metrics" process for communication. Let me know of further issues you see.

In addition to commenting on accuracy, possibly you would consider taking a stronger role in doing some of this task which caught your attention. Your notice to Jon Body was helpful. It would reduce the chance of me making mistakes that harm people's understanding SDS. The report from the Corps of Engineers shows the method fits corporate life and is effective, but clearly we need more effective presentation in the market place. I realize time is a problem, but if you see something like the KnowledgeFarm or even contacts at Apple and elsewhere, go ahead and let them know about SDS.

On the feedback issue, please continue to notify of mistakes. It is a big part of improving the work. Sometimes it is not fun, but that's part of getting things done.

Sincerely,

THE WELCH COMPANY
