Subject:   Case SRX010207601263

Dear Joe,

This confirms our discussion today. Thanks very much for looking into making the 1.4 GHz 400 MHz bus computer work as fast as the 650 MHz 66MHz bus computer. With the economy slowing, and computer sales lagging, your Applications Performance department is vital to improve productivity. For example on December 7, 2000 disappointed investors reported that....

too many people are having too many problems!

Problems cause delay, loss, lower earnings and falling stock prices. Some people hope Allen Greenspan can jigger interest rates to restore vitality in the work force. However, improving performance, including software applications, is the only way to improve productivity, and it starts by solving problems.

The record of our call today sets out two (2) pending issues; and has information to expedite your work.

By copy I am notifying Einar Ekholm, who worked this case on February 7, about progress and planning from our work today. Einar asked in letters on February 9, and again on February 14, to be kept informed about progress.

As well, I am notifying Kenneth Burgener, who also worked the case on February 7, that his email on that date was lost as a result of w2k failing, which required re-installation. Therefore, when time permits, it would be helpful for Ken to re-submit information he feels can improve performance, explaining how it relates to the record of work todate.

Thanks again for great work today. Please let me know if you need more information to address pending issues.

Sincerely,

THE WELCH COMPANY
