111029 -        producers at HBO are preparing to air the made for stereotyping
111030 -        movie "Path to Paradise".  The air date for this hateful film
111031 -        is currently June 14.  AMC and the Arab-American
111032 -        Anti-Discrimination Committee have made efforts to offer
111033 -        productive suggestions, saying how the producers of "Paradise"
111034 -        could use this film to enhance tolerance.  Unfortunately this

111039 -        and firing weapons, while in the sound track we hear a voice
111040 -        spewing hatred accompanied by recitation of the Qur'an. From
111041 -        there "Path" follows the story of the men who perpetrated the
111042 -        World Trade Center bombing. From the opening scene to the
111043 -        final line, "Next time we will bring them both down," a
111044 -        reference to a follow-up attempt to destroy the Trade Center
111045 -        buildings, we are subjected to every anti-Islamic stereotype

111049 -    4.  We do not want to question HBO's statement that the film is
111050 -        based on facts derived FBI files and other sources.

111053 -    5.  The problem is with the facts that were selected and more
111054 -        importantly with those that were omitted.  In no way does the
111055 -        film attempt to show that these men are not representative of
111056 -        Muslims or the Islamic faith.  In fact it leaves the viewer
111057 -        with ominous impression that "the Muslims are coming".

111060 -    6.  This film, and the image of Islam that it presents demands a
111061 -        full and vocal response from the American Muslim community and
111062 -        all those who share a love for religious tolerance.  HBO, and
111063 -        all other film producers, must know that the public finds this
111064 -        kind of irresponsible film making totally unacceptable.

111070 -            is more important than a few movies.  Mention "Path to

111093 -            Jews?  Surely they would have.

111096 -        b.  This film makes no attempt to portray the attitudes of the
111097 -            overwhelming majority of Muslims.

111101 -            Muslims were blamed and attacked before any facts were
111102 -            obtained gives us a glimpse of the type of reaction this
