0709 -
070901 - Followed up discussion at ref SDS 3 line 119.
070902 -
070903 - Kathleen did not address the objective of the "knowledge revolution"
070904 - analysis, but will take another look at it, and try to use the
070905 - citation tools.

0712 - Discussion
0713 -
071301 - Kathleen read comments she prepared after reading the analysis of the
071302 - "Knowledge Revolution," ref SDS 2 line 87.
071303 -
071304 - She feels computers and other communication tools can be used to
071305 - control her life and thoughts, and can invade her thoughts through the
071306 - idea of "artificial intelligence." She is concerned that computers
071307 - and the demand for business to make money eviscerate aspects of
071308 - humanity, i.e. spontanaity, emotion, feelings, joy, etc.). These
071309 - views mesh with her letter at ref DRP 1 line 36, noting "...knowledge
071310 - is frightening."
071311 -
071312 - I explained that computers cannot and will likely never be able to
071313 - duplicate or otherwise challenge human mental acuity, because the
071314 - brain is too complex and works much differently from computers, (see
071315 - ref SDS 1 line 101). I asked if she had considered the thesis of my
071316 - analysis on knowledge, as defining the difference between "informa-
071317 - tion" and "knowledge" and that SDS tools enhance the ability to create
071318 - lasting knowledge? She said she did not focus on that aspect of
071319 - knowledge, but will take another look at the article from that
071320 - perspective.

071326 - I asked if she is able now to use the SDS linking and citation tools
071327 - we discussed at ref SDS 3 line 091455.
071328 -
071329 - Kathleen said she has not been doing this, and did not apply these
071330 - tools in her review of the "Knowledge Analysis." I explained that she
071331 - can double click or press Enter on embedded citations to look up the
071332 - material referenced. She liked this idea.
071333 -
071334 - Kathleen said she is going to Patty's new house to help with setting
071335 - it up. When she gets back, she will review the analysis on "Knowledge
071336 - Revolution" again and try to use the citation tools to comment on the
071337 - ideas of using SDS tools to emulate human memory.

0804 - Summary/Objective
0805 -
080501 - I mentioned Denis' request for someone to help him get his SDS records
080502 - entered for meetings, per ref SDS 4 line 120917.
080503 -
080504 - Kathleen suggested we consider using a modem. Denis could fax his
080505 - notes, to her, and she could create the record from them.
080506 -
080507 - She would have to create a generic record, that he could then
080508 - transfer into the record for the event, and then he would have to
080509 - edit it.
