AU0402 -    8.  At the VA this afternoon, talked to Iris and Kendall.  They
AU0403 -        said the VA used to provide transportation for patients in my
AU0404 -        situation, but stopped about a year or so ago.  Had hoped I
AU0405 -        could just hang out after the procedure for a few hours and
AU0406 -        then drive home, but they said the VA won't let them start the
AU0407 -        procedure unless the patient produces a designated driver in
AU0408 -        advance.  So, tomorrow morning I will drive into the city and
AU0409 -        set up the EGD procedure at the Medical Center sometime next
AU0410 -        month.  As mentioned, I can stay overnight there and drive
AU0411 -        myself home the next day.  That's the current plan.

AV0402 -    9.  There is slightly increased concern about a-fib.  Saw a
AV0403 -        television commercial yesterday saying "atrial fibrillation"
AV0404 -        (a-fib) can cause stroke.  Of course they were selling stuff,
AV0405 -        but makes touching base with the CT surgery team seem more
AV0406 -        urgent.  I called Karen in Cardiology to facilitate
AV0407 -        communication, but she has not called back.  So, "If the
