Subject: | NSF Proposal on Communication Metrics |
Software Design Support Application |
Dear Morris,
This evening I received a letter from Dan Palanza, who is an NSF grantee, and has been suggested by NSF as a possible contributor on my project. Dan's innovation is generally explained in the record on July 10. It seems to be an improvement for bookkeeping. Dan indicates the IT industry has a particular need for his system. His Phase I final report will be submitted on Thursday, July 15. He is sending me a copy, and I will forward a copy to you for information and comment.
Dan's letter this evening says Communication Metrics can support software and engineering management in all fields. Of course this is very preliminary on his part, but I am curious if...
artifact coordination and refinement
... which are new terms for me, was considered in your review on May 24, concerning this subject? Is Dan citing an aspect of engineering management that Communication Metrics can support, which I have not encountered? How should we evaluate this potential?
Thanks.
Sincerely,
THE WELCH COMPANY
