Subject: Ceiling staff/hang points at second and third floor
  1. Regarding the exhibit hall 2nd and third floor ceilings. As of yesterday, I do not seem to get through to Robert: can you provide a ceiling layout were all strucutral trusses and bracing is indicated. Indicate thicknesses in your coordination plan of the above members. As I explained to Robert before and again yesterday, at 22' 6" oc there is already a structural member in the east/west direction that we should use for the hang point layout. It is there for structural reasons (it is indicated as a bracing element on the structural framing plan) Let's use it!!! Not spending unnecessary Client $'s is our task! We have a limited Construction budget. OUt task is to design around the parameters given.

  2. As of my meeting with you and Robert on 9/17/98, I indicated to you that the 7/8" dimension between the gypsum board soffit and track cover is not acceptable: there is some give and take at the perimeter of the acoustical ceiling. Try to use it.

  3. Restrooms: As I indicated to you before, and also yesterday, please verify the women/men ratio at each of the restoom locations. We can not blury our head in the sand. This is a major facility we cannot be wrong. I hope you have an answer by Monday. Start with the women # of water closets. With this # take a look at the UPC code (copy given to your team, hope you still have it). The code requirements will tell you how many occupants you can accomodate with the # of water closets you have in one location. Calculate the woman lavatories based on the occupancy established for the water closets. Since women/men are 50/50 look at how many fixtures you need for me's restrooms. (wc, lavs, urinals). You may need to play with the layout to arrive at a reasonable ratio. Please advise. We need to also advise the client. Thank you.
