Dear Don,
Thanks for the information on Glucosamine and Chondroitin in your letter on October 26.
Glucosamine treatment was suggested in a meeting at Kaiser Medical Group on September 10, and cited again in a medical report on September 25, however, use with Chondroitin was not supported. On October 9, Millie and I purchased at Costco what sounds like the combination product you recommend, and so asked the doctor about a treatment plan. A family friend who works in the orthopedic department at John Muir/Mt Diablo hospital told us that a doctor should prescribe dosage based on patient history, rather than simply follow the instructions on the bottle. My doctor has not prescribed dosage. Your history provides good evidence that following generic instructions is probably okay, despite information from our family friend. So, thanks to you, I may be back on the courts sooner than expected.
Will keep you posted.
Hope all is well, and that you are keeping your game up, but not too much. I want to at least be able to give you a match.
Sincerely,
Rod
