Subject:   High Cost of Mistakes
Request Review of Solution

Dear Andrea,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Executives, doctors... a lot of people are reluctant to click on links to access web mail, which strives to deliver useful "intelligence" rather than information and data. The link in my email is not to a conventional web site. It opens a letter to you that explains the solution to escalating mistakes in medicine and other fields. Given the effort you have made to report the high cost of this problem, learning the solution seems like a good investment, if you can find time.

Doctors at Kaiser Medical Group at first planned to to "visit the web site" when they had time, which means it never happened. Medical managers finally looked and found the web site had information the doctors needed to improve their work and avoid mistakes. So now we have a little window of doctors reading web mail. This took months to achieve because doctors did not believe the web mail method could substantially improve regular email, printed material and voice mail. All they had to do to find out is click. But this is a huge emotional hurdle, as explained in my letter to you on the web.

Here is an example of a letter to a doctor that improves medical management to avoid mistakes....

I realize you may not have time to investigate, but want you to know that "visiting the web site" has material information on your work.

Thanks again for excellent reporting.

Sincerely,

Rod
