SDS Progress Needs Focus on Culture of Knowledge

Dear Jack,

Thanks for your letter yesterday planning to take another look at the explanation of alphabet technology in POIMS.

"Improvement" necessarily moves beyond current thinking. This entails introducing new terms, and explaining old terms in a new light with added power. We want to lead buzz-du-jour in the area of KM, not follow, because (1) we have something to say that is not being said by others, and (2) we can empower people use what we say with SDS, and (3) this change will improve people's lives. There is a delicate balance to leadership: getting out ahead to lead, but not so far that folks cannot see the leader.
