Dear Jeff,
Thanks very much for a thoughtful, constructive letter on September 26, 2001 commenting on POIMS and SDS. Wish it was feasible to visit directly to exchange ideas.
Of course congratulations on starting your new business. With the huge array of things to do for a successful launch, it was especially kind of you to take time for examining my work and offering generous remarks.
Answering your question about SDS, POIMS and Communication Metrics, this was recently explained on October 10, and so should offer clarification.
I generally agree with your observation about the complexity of cognition, and that plan perform report is a summarizing concept that helps people dig into the subject.
Your suggestion for a conference could help focus the talents of many bright stars that have a lot of energy with some insight and willingness to advance an agenda for moving from IT to a culture of knowledge. Preliminary ideas are in the record on September 26. I am not positioned to carry this forward alone. If there is interest, however, I believe the time is especially ripe for a conference on improving intelligence, which would also aid the economy.
Two additional initiatives have come forward that may be of interest....
Thanks again for timely response, and supportive ideas. I apologize for taking so long to get back to you, and would be pleased to hear further about a conference or other measures to advance this important work. SDS sometimes takes a little longer to get geared up, but once on the job can turn out effective work.
Good luck with your new business.
