Science Applications
Thanks for the award of the Advanced Degree. I thought I was going to have to settle for my Masters. :-) I do kind of like that Ph.D. after the name. Maybe I'll do something to earn one some day.
I've reviewed your letter and links. Are the letter and links representative of your POIMS technology?
It does appear that you are using the tree/star metaphor, and possibly the arrow as well (versioning?), working with file systems rather than databases. I'd demonstrated a simple yet similar technique to a group of DoD folks recently to help them to understand the power of hierarchical file systems and the use of shortcuts and internal bookmarks/etc. to link information together. You've obviously carried this much farther.
I'd focused on the use of database stores for my information structures because the file systems (Unix, MSDOS) weren't up to the load or complexity 15 years ago. However, now, with the advent of robust file systems, good security, XML, and Web, file systems are once again workable for my approach.
Thanks for the interest.
Sincerely,
Roy
