Dear Virginia,
I apologize for difficulty you experienced retrieving my letter for Mike sent on Jun 10, 1999. The ISP reports just now that their "downstream provider" is "down" throughout Northern California. I noticed the problem myself trying to upload another letter to the web. Normally these problems last a matter of hours.
Please try to retrieve the letter for Mike in the afternoon.
I prefer that Mike get the letter on the web, because it has links to collateral information. If we send a fax, he will get a pile of paper to shuffle. The links provide more facile command of what he wants to know on this matter. He can forward it to his client without the time and expense of mail, and so on.
Thanks for your letter. Sorry for the inconvenience of delay.
