Dear Linda,

This confirms our discussion this morning that Sony is sending a replacement drive.

I think I forgot to mention that our computer system is a 450Mhz, IBM compatible, with 180M memory, 11.5G hard drive, and a second standard CD ROM drive installed with your Sony unit. This may not make any difference, but was the testing done on this type of system. Will replacement unit be compatible, etc.

The Sony RW CD ROM drive ran fine for 6 months or so, then these problems occurred. I appreciate the effort Sony has made, and regret you were unable to replicate the problems we had. This information supplements the record. As well, please advise if there are any operator issues evident from the record on Aug 18 that may have caused these problems. Although your time is limited, sometimes an expert viewing the entire record will spot something that is not correct, but is hard to recognize by cursory consideration.
