1110 - Summary/Objective
1111 -
111101 - Followed up work at ref SDS 6 line 31, and work on SI.
111102 -
111103 - Will submit just Action Items from meeting with Bill, to Ahmet, per
111104 - ref DIT 1 line 30, with copy to Bill via modem.
111105 -
111106 - Submit the entire record to Bill, including update of SI.
111107 -
111108 - [Did this at ref SDS 7 line 28.]

1114 - Progress
1115 -
111501 - Had to expand the SI for the PMI Event Program project created
111502 - initially at ref SDS 1 line 79.
111503 -
111504 - Turned out we need a variety of ways to frame information which causes
111505 - the SI to expand almost exponentially. A simple example is "theme".
111506 -
111507 - "Theme" appears under "Planning" at a primary level, so we can
111508 - assemble information themes to coordinate, and for each event.
111509 -
111510 - It appears again under each event listed as primary planning
111511 - subjects.
111512 -
111513 -
111514 - SI Theory
111515 -
111516 - This shows a person called a Controller may be needed or some method
111517 - of avoiding proliferation of subject paths. The challenge is that the
111518 - mind is flexible but it does not retain structure. On any given day
111519 - it can perceive relationships which on another day are not apparent.
111520 - If we offer every conceivable path to information, then an index
111521 - becomes huge and much of it is irrelevant in the sense that the mind
111522 - will likely never again perceive of particular relationships. So our
111523 - aim is to reflect in the SI the paths the mind is most likely to apply
111524 - in most circumstances. We definitely need multiple paths, but if we
111525 - create all paths that pop into the mind every day, then the thing
111526 - becomes unmanageable. Indeed this is the notion of discrimination and
111527 - discernment. Knowledge is being able to retrieve certain critical
111528 - relationships. The SI gives the mind clues to retrieve its critical
111529 - paths, which means its knowledge, and fast ways to search for it. The
111530 - linking tools allow the mind to hard wire relationships between
111531 - disparate sets of information that seem important.
111532 -
111533 -
111534 - Today, I added subjects, created an agenda for the meeting with Bill,
111535 - ref SDS 4 line 69, and added record segments to apply the subjects.
111536 -
111537 - We seem to be missing in the SI for this project a separate subject
111538 - for "management." However, this may foster better analysis of what
111539 - management is doing, by forcing consideration of which PMBOK subject
111540 - applies to each SDS task. The idea is that if management is doing the
111541 - things in the PMKBOK, then it is doing the things that have been found
111542 - over many years of experience need to be done.

1118 - 1521 called Bill
1119 -
111901 - He will have the CPM later today, and I will transfer the notes of the
111902 - meeting yesterday, ref SDS 4 line 62.
