- Summary/Objective
- Follow up ref SDS 6 line 102.
- Arrived in Concord oa 0650. Bill arrived oa 0715 and we drove to
- Cordillia for meeting with Maria and Kevin.
- I explained the need to complete the Subject Index for the project
- based on the contract between PG&E and DWR. Bill will ask Kevin for a
- copy of the contract, so we can do this next week. He will be off

- We considered the advantage of showing in the schedule that field
- construction of the pipeline and other improvements will actually
- control the start and pace of construction by PG&E.
- Defective Pipe Delay
- Bill said CDWR has indicated construction has been delayed because of
- defective pipe. Evidently an old spec was used for the project with
- the result that the specified pipe is no longer commonly manufactured,
- so this was a special run. Even though it appears there is ample time
- for the pipeline construction to preceed construction of the transmis-
- sion line and other PG&E work, this kind of delay could potentially
- impact PG&E's work. Therefore, it is a good idea to get into the
- record at an early date while there is low likelyhood of dispute with
- respect to impact, that CDWR's activities actually control PG&E's
- work.

Controls, Information, Notices
- After the meeting this morning, I walked back to Bill's car to get my
- coat. He asked me to prepare meeting notes to submit to Kevin, that
- show understandings at the PM level within PG&E with respect to
- expectations and obligations for performing the agreement with CDWR.
- Drove back from Sacramento with Jivat and Kevin.
- We considered the difficulty that could arise if Lorri Brown steps
- down as the coordinator for CDWR of the PG&E work, as she indicated
- would occur next week.
- ..
- Kevin asked about my work using SDS in Transmissions Systems
- I explained the scope and objectives, per our contract, ref DIP 1 line
- line 30, the proposal ref DIP 1 line 30 and discussions with Bill and
- Kent on 940728. ref SDS 1 9942.
- Kevin said that the meeting today with CDWR indicated PG&E may need to
- keep CDWR informed by formal correspondence of understandings and
- expectations by the parties in performing their agreement.
- I mentioned Bill's requrest for meeting notes.
- Kevin said he will be on vacation next week. He will review the notes
- Bill submits for consideration in notifying CDWR of PG&E's
- understandings.
- [On 940901 CDWR indicated it wanted SDS notes. ref SDS 7 4920]
