- Summary/Objective
-
- While driving to pickup Cynthia, discussed my work to help PG&E
- evaluate SDS.
-
- Jivat said the Engineering department recently got a briefing on a new
- PM computer system, Prostar. It is evidently the program Bill and
- Cynthia are using to track and report costs on the CDWR project.
-
- Jivat was concerned about spending more time learning new software
- than on engineering. He said the program requires 8 MB or RAM and 10
- MB on the hard disk. There are only a few computers in his area that
- have these capabilities, so engineers have to share computers to do
- the input. He feels this is very inefficient. Jivat said data entry
- would work better, if engineers could write in conventional long hand
- the input information and have one person input the data.
