- Submitted ref DIT 1 0001 to Morris that lists pending improvements
- for Medit....
-
- 1. The past few days we have discussed following pending Medit
- issues...
-
- a. Fix problem with scrolling macro using get command after
- 386 cycles, per work yesterday with tst, tst1 and tst3.
- ref SDS 3 JF6F and ref SDS 2 EE3F
- ..
- b. Eliminate default call to "profile," since that is no
- longer used. If we keep it, avoid whatever is going on
- that consumes memory, possibly causing problem #1, per your
- analysis yesterday. ref SDS 3 XQ8I

- c. New command FLLN to put the last line number in a counter,

- ..
- 2. Another refinement that would help is to put the dose and dos
- temporary file in a directory, and remove the directory each
- pass, as you are currently doing with the file itself.
- ..
- 3. Sometimes SDS crashes in a dose session due to memory problems.
- We have reduced this problem, thanks to an ideas you and Gary
- have suggested, but the remaining scope of the problem still
- results in accumulating temporary files in the root directory.
- Other users don't know this is occurring and/or do not use the
- discipline you discussed in your letter on 990816 based on
- experience working with Boy Scouts, and so they wind up with a
- bunch of strange files in the root directory and don't know
- why.
- ..
- 4. If you put these dos and dose files in a temporary directory,
- say c:\mjtmp, then they can be deleted with a single command by
- deleting the directory. Would like you to continue to maintain
- these temporary files in the current manner. However, we can
- increase support by placing a command in the SDS launch op that
- deletes the temporary directory at least once a day, along with
- other similar tasks.
