1211 - Summary/Objective
1212 -
121201 - Follow up ref SDS 2 0000, ref SDS 1 0000.
121202 -
121203 - Gary reported a problem making a new task in the Schedule using a
121204 - current diary record. Could not replicate problem. Possibly it was
121205 - caused by recent improvements to this function. Will update Gary's
121206 - records a few days and that should solve the problem.
121207 -
121208 - On 031026 submitted a program update that may fix this problem.
121210 - ..
121211 - [On 031024 Gary asks about using mark and return, ref SDS 6 1026,
121212 - and comments on getting unexpected links using Enter. ref SDS 6

1215 - Problem
1216 -
121601 - Gary called this morning and explained problems using a current diary
121602 - record to make a new task in the Schedule. Discussion did not suggest
121603 - any solutions, so he sent a letter with his SDS records attached in
121604 - zip files.
121606 - ..
121607 - This method of receiving files for SDS as attachments to email is
121608 - very poor, because each file has to be downloaded separately, and
121609 - this requires repeated keystrokes. Additionaly, for some reason the
121610 - name of the file displayed for saving to the disk is different from
121611 - the name of the file shown to be downloaded, so this has to be
121612 - typed in manually 4 times. That is a lot of keystrokes that lead
121613 - to errors, mistakes and delay for rework to recover.
121614 -
121615 - [On 031026 letter to Gary discusses using FTP where possible
121616 - rather than email for transferring SDS records. ref SDS 7 ET9V
121618 - ..
121619 - Gary also sent a letter, ref DRT 1 0001, that explains the problem...

121629 - Here are my records from 2003-Oct-01.
121631 - ..
121632 - 3. Symptoms are:
121633 -
121634 - 1) Open record: SoSCOE SDD Readiness Review - Day 1
121636 - ..
121637 - This is Gary's record on 031022. ref SDS 5 0001
121639 - ..
121640 - Gary continues...
121641 -
121642 - 2) F1, Shift F1 to create new schedule record.
121643 - 3) Title not copied completely.
121644 -
121645 - [On 031026 submitted updated code to Gary and a note asking
121646 - him to check this issue and advise if the problem persists,
121647 - or is soleved with updated code. ref SDS 7 ET8W
121649 - ..
121650 - 4. Can't replicate the problem using an archived record with F1
121651 - from the Diary or F1, Shift F1 from an open record. Thanks,
121653 - ..
121654 - 5. Gary
121656 -
121658 - ..
121659 - Since I am making an improvement to the SDS menu system, reported in
121660 - another record today, ref SDS 4 0001, was not able to work on this new
121661 - issue.
121663 - ..
121664 - Subsequently examined Gary's records.
121665 -
121666 - 1. Initially looked at Gary's Schedule on 021022, which is for
121667 - today. In the Schedule there is a current diary record....
121668 -
121669 - SoSCOE SDD Readiness Review - Day 1
121670 -
121671 - ...examination shows the record looks okay. There are no
121672 - evident format issues. ref SDS 5 0001
121674 - ..
121675 - 2. Followed the scenario Gary reports by pressing F1 Shift F1 and
121676 - this created a new task in Gary's SDS Schedule.
121678 - ..
121679 - The record looks normal. No evident problems. The task
121680 - description is correct, rather than truncated or otherwise
121681 - defective, as Gary encountered. ref SDS 0 PPWV
121683 - ..
121684 - The problem Gary describes sounds familiar in the sense that I know
121685 - something like that has occurred, either recently or some time ago.
121686 - If it was sometime ago, then the code he has should be okay. If it
121687 - was recently, then we have enountered the problem of program updates
121688 - being out of sync due to the pkzip program "-n" parameter matter,
121689 - which Gary discussed recently.
121691 - ..
121692 - Actually, while assigning subjects to this record, noticed that macro
121693 - file 004 does this function, and was recently improved to work with
121694 - the Start command on 031014. ref SDS 3 0001 Possibly, the problem
121695 - Gary had occurred then, and so accounts for vaguely remembering, or it
121696 - may have caused the problem.
121698 - ..
121699 - In any case, it seems to be solved now.
121701 - ..
121702 - I will update Gary's code again in a few days, and we can see if that
121703 - solves the problem.
121704 -
121705 - [On 031026 submitted updated code to Gary and a note asking him to
121706 - check this issue and advise if the problem persists, or is soleved
