Forward Links to Scheduled Tasks Not

Dear Rod,

I attempted something strange, so I am not surprised that it didn’t work, but the error is strange.
..
Objective: Create a new diary record from an existing record and create a forward link to it.
..
Plan:
  1. Enter ‘Follow On
    ..
  2. F2 to save

  3. F5 to turn linking on
    ..
  4. F1 Shift F1 to create the new record

  5. F8 to make it a Diary record
    ..
  6. to open the record

  7. Position to the initial anchor and to try to create the link in the last record.
..
I get this error:

You are in a diary record created by ANOTHER User.
..
"Save," "delete" and "link" functions are NOT available in this mode.
..
You can only EXAMINE another User's diary record for information, and link into them, then ESC to close it.
..
If you feel the record is incomplete, inaccurate or not needed any longer, check with the User or that person's supervisor. ..
If I create the record and then link, it works fine.
..
Again, this was something bizarre I tried, but getting *this* error is surprising.
