Subject:
Group Manager SDS Failing to Launch and
DIR Command; Archiving dies
Dear Rod,
I installed your recent update and removed the zip files from the server. I
have modified rcv.bat to go to the c:\09 directory rather than requiring
that it be executed from there. This update didn’t mess up the group manager
record – thanks!
..
DIR command defaults
I looked at the 4DOS documentation and found a way to force the defaults on
the DIR command to use the /z /e switches, which generates a directory
listing in the same format as MSDOS. It works when I exit SDS, so I believe
that it works everywhere, I removed all the switches I had installed before.

SDS dies on open
Sunday, November 03, 2002
Today when I try to launch SDS, it simply dies unless launched with "no
archiving" on. This of course shows a schedule for yesterday instead of
today.
.. If this is a month rollover problem, it should have shown up on Nov 1.
Nov 2 (Yesterday) in the Diary has 7 entries for the SAA record at 0747.
They all show the same record.
I have no explanation.
..
e:\sd\12 has files that appear to be diary records from day 1. There are 54
files dating back to October 1. It looks like this may be the monthly
archive that is breaking?
The oldest record looks to be one I used for a test of creating new records.
That record won't open from the Diary. The record on disk is 01145336,
meaning it was created at 2:53:36 on the first day of the month, which
matches the directory timestamp. The Diary shows the time as 1354. Changing
the time in the diary doesn't fix the problem. Copying the record and
changing the name to reflect the 1354 time doesn't work. I expect that the
full path name including the seconds is being used. The error screen says
that the file name is shown, but it isn't.
..
I think that this is the same record I had trouble with before. I thought
you fixed it. All other records in the vicinity appear to open fine.
..
This one has me baffled, since I don’t know where to begin. It seems that
this is macro 008, but I can’t tell from the index or the file.
