Some SDS functions -- How To
Rod,
A couple of questions:
I am having trouble with cut an paste. I want to copy some text from a
different record into the current one.
.. If I read the function key list correctly, this should be:
Position to the record to copy from.
Shift F5 – Initiate cut & Paste operation
F5 – Mark UL
F6 – Mark LR
F3 / F4 – copy / clear block to the cut file
Position to where to insert the cut text.
Shift F6 – Paste at UL
..
I can't seem to get this to work, so I am likely doing something wrong.
..
Create a Diary Record for a Prior Date
I apologize for not remembering how to do this. I need to take notes as well
as perform the operations while we walk through them, as the help files are
not always in synch with reality.
..
The help file says "The "Prior Date Diary" function shown in the Manage menu
lets you create a Diary record for any date in the past.” That function is
in the Diary menu, which actually makes more sense. The help file is 10 22.
It would be convenient if the help files gave the file name somewhere. I did
get a record created, so I think I am ok on that.
..
I then wanted to schedule a follow up to that Diary Record, so I used F1,
Shift F1 to get a schedule record using this one as a template. I was
surprised to find the record under the earlier date rather than today. I
assume this is expected behavior, but I what is the rationale? I simply
moved it to today where I wanted it.
