Subject:   W98 Problem Solved by SDS

I messed up my registry by installing a wrong driver. When I turned my machine on it came up in W98 with a blank screen. I called someone I know to help me, but he really wasn't much help.

I went online and looked up W98 registry and found your page for August 25, 1999....

In order to find this page, I used Lycos to request "W98 Registry."

A bunch of different pages came up. I opened one on the first page and scrolled through the rest on the first page, I found your site on the second page. I then went down the Summary list in your record for August 25, and clicked on item #9, which sounded like the information I needed.

The explanation under this heading on how to find and restore system backups of the W98 registry solved my problem. I followed your instructions and now my computer is just as it was prior to my messing with it.

Thanks so much for having such great information available. My husband thanks you to, since he wanted to call a repairman immediately.
