SECOND-GENERATION KM COURSES LAUNCHED!

The Knowledge Management Consortium International (KMCI) is pleased to announce the formal debut of its educational arm, the KMCI Institute, and the associated rollout of several exciting new courses scheduled for late 2000 and early 2001. In keeping with the KMCI's thought-leading position in the industry, courses planned for this year and next will focus on various aspects of second-generation KM, a perspective on knowledge and innovation management developed by KMCI members and committees over the past three years.

Unlike traditional first-generation approaches which tend to focus only on knowledge sharing, second-generation thinking broadens the scope of KM to include the business of knowledge making, or innovation, as well. All of the KMCI Institute's offerings have been conceived with this broader, more balanced view in mind and have been crafted, accordingly.

In addition to the courses already planned for this year and next, the KMCI Institute is working hard on the development and release of a new Certification Program that will be announced some time in early 2001. Stay tuned for more details on this important new offering.

Finally, KMCI members and other constituents are encouraged to REGISTER EARLY for the courses listed above, since space will be limited in all cases. All courses are open to the public at large. KMCI members, however, are eligible for discounts on registration fees. See the KMCI website for membership details and more information on all aspects of the Institute's programs and course offerings (kmci.org).

Sincerely,

Mark W. McElroy, Chairman
