Was trying to follow the instructions for Dial Up Networking
and ran into the following:


Click the Next  button in the Make New Connection wizard.
Enter your local access phone number. If you did not receive
one at sign up, visit...


http://www.jps.net/pop


...to look one up. Verify with the operator that the number is
indeed local to you before using.


I didn't know of any local number, so I visited the JPS Web site
and found that Montana is not listed.  Hence, signing up will
mean a long distance call each time I access the site via dial-up
networking.


I am not sure how I explain long distance calls made by my
computer to an auditor, but it doesn't look like something I want
to try with my present precarious circumstances with my boss.


My computer has a fiber optic link to the state backbone that I
normally use for internet access. Is there perhaps a way for me
to access via that link?
