Discussion

  1. New floor plan backgrounds will be transmitted today pending checking against structural.

    Fire separation drawings that indicate area separations for all four floor are important in the development of the floor plans, Partition schedule, and HVAC fire damper indication. KH will complete by October 14,m 1998.

  2. KH needs to update their interior elevations to show the latest structural brace frames and the acoustical separation walls above the movable walls, fire hose/valve cabinets, etc.

  3. KH needs to develop a detailed wall section at Column B. Duct penetration at column B may be affected by subframe for movable walls and subframe.

    Hand drafted sketch was transmitted to A&P @ 25% printing. Column line F effort to begin and be transmitted to A&P by October 12, 98.

Remaining issues from previous meetings:

  1. A&P provided samples of diffusers for the pre-function space.

    JV team requested a sample of the adjustable louver in silver.

    JV team requested an American made alternates to the louvered round diffuser.

  2. A&P provided catalog of diffusers for JV team (PS) review and selection. (for pre-function ceiling at 5' squares).

  3. CC requested A&P study the pre-function ceiling (a typical 90'x30' bay).

    Please provide sketch options showing:

    1. Single slot diffusers (located where shown on current plan.)

  4. CC requested A&P relocate all items/equipment requiring access from the ceilings above the pre-function stair or escalators.

    KH to revise and coordinate the diffuser location at all pre function ceilings around all floor openings.

    Remove high velocity diffusers from opening edges.

    Remove round diffusers from elevations where they are not coordinated with the HVAC drawings.

    Amit indicated that perimeter ceiling diffusers are indicated on the HVAC drawings.

  5. JV team (KHA) and A&P to coordinate all fire damper locations and access for them particularly in the pre-function core (bounded by grid lines E.5 and F) and at grid line B.

    JV team will verify if damper locations conflict with elevator machine room. Elevator shafts, etc.

  6. CC requested Amit study architectural drawings for adequacy (particularly related to diffuser counts and placement.

    Exhibit/swing space diffuser locations are acceptable as indicated on the latest ceiling layouts.

    A&P will indicate which 2' x 2 squares are supply, which are returns.

    A&P to notify JV team if any deficiencies are discovered. If identified, deficiencies will be corrected.

  7. CC requested section through ceiling/floor assembly for verification that all ductwork does not conflict with structure or plumbing/electrical floor boxes.

    KH to provide a section through the ceiling space to indicate all the ceiling devices :structural elements, supports for the movable walls, supports for gypsum board edges, movable wall supports, floor boxes, ceiling layer, etc.

    KH to provide by 10/17/98.

  8. A&P advised JV team that structural coordination must occur in penthouse: cross bracing "A" vs. "V" formations.

    JV team will study and coordinate with SDE.

    A&P requested that column line 3 brace be a V type brace.

    Additional coordination with structural to be coordinated through SH.

    SDE to follow up.

  9. JV team (SH) gave A&P a copy of the louver study showing inadequacy of the shafts and louvers.

    JV team proposals for modification in progress.

    A&P will use high efficiency louvers. A&P to advise.

    JV team (SH) to schedule additional time with A&P for resolution of louver/shaft issues.

  10. Emergency generator exhaust currently conflicts with stair, coordination of shaft for exhaust lines is required. Current scheme shows exhaust extending to roof.

    Requirement: Pipe to extend 10' above roof, and 3' from adjacent wall, enclosed in a 2 hour shaft within building.

    Exhaust pipes will terminate at the face of the building.Approval was received from the DBI.

    KH to coordinate and indicate pipes within the interior shafts,

    MWA to coordinate the exterior elevation penetrations.

    CC red marked the area on the table set for coordination.

    JV team requested clarification of exhaust requirements (distance/height from sidewalk).

    JV team to study options of not extending exhaust to roof.

  11. A&P and JV team must coordinate venting of elevator shafts. Current scheme of venting directly through penthouse to penthouse roof will be modified to preserve elevation.

  12. JB requested structural and JV team approval of the sump locations.

    JV team to issue electronic files to FBA.

  13. CC clarified hose cabinet responsibility:

  14. A&P provided sections through the kitchen illustrating the connection to the grease duct.

    Structural clearance issues were identified. See M7.02 for sections.

    All sections assume 8'-6" height of hood connection. This was approved by Cini-Little. Pending approval from hood manufacturer (Gaylord).

    No work yet in the kitchen area.

    KH to provide a section through the kitchen area that addresses clearances below structure, double slab at ramp area, etc.

  15. Has confirmation been received by SF Thermal on steam vault?

    x24 size was previously approved by the City. No issue.

  17. A&P advised JV team that relocation of drains in basement cafeteria needs to occur.

  3. Louvers on the south end elevations were discussed.

    A&P advised that the proposed louver re configuration does not work.

    CC indicated that may be a different approach can be used to address the exhaust louver requirements:

    • ue area west of column line B/5 and 6. Louver at roof area can be provided on the west "tower" elevation. • ue louver area now indicated above the lower roof area in the profiled metal area. • pe a roof opening in the vicinity of the cooling tower. • All advise by 10/8/98.
