Dear Gail,
Here is the letter to Andrea Gerlin that explains the solution to the problem of chronic mistakes that the escalate cost of medical care, which she reported in CCT beginning on September 12. The same solution applies to bread, computers, newspapers, houses, missles, taxes and anything touched by information overload, which is everything on the planet.
A magic bullet, wave the wand solution awaits only in the next world. Here on earth we have to deal with human limits on processing information. That can be done, but it takes a partnership solution explained in my letter to Andrea. Right now, when things seem to be going reasonably well, is the time to invest sunshine profits in better tools and processes, but it is hard to make progress with individual and collective minds overwhelmed by information overload. Good reporting has a chance.
