Thanks for your letter on December 20, 2000. For some reason it has been held up in transmission, and so was received today.

Automatically formulating and applying subjects has long been pursued in the AI community, largely subsumed in recent years by Knowledge Management, which itself is becoming passe, as people struggle with elusive objectives.

At this time, Jack Park seems to be making the most progress. Jack and his colleague, Howard Liu, can discuss your ideas constructively.
