Dear Morris,
Here are some comments on Eric's most recent submission of preliminary specs v0.6 for a DKR editor. If you have time, you might like to read through the specs, and review comments in the record on May 5, 2000. I may have sent this to you already, and if so extend apologies for redundant submission.
We are set for Wednesday with Eric at 0400p. Jack doesn't think he can attend, but will try.
Not sure why Eric asked for the meeting, but it was after the meeting at SRI last Thursday. Jack said this morning that things are in a bit of a crisis. Doug is trying to get funded. Right now the only work product he can show that illustrates what his project can do is Eric's spec. My sense is that improving email, as Eric is currently proposing, is not a big enough advance to interest sponsors or investors. Our goal on Wednesday is to try and set a broader vision, per your suggestion on May 9, 2000. Perhaps his request for a meeting reflects a willingness to consider SDS as the core KM capability. We'll see.
Would you give Dave Vannier another try to see if he is available and interested in attending the meeting with Eric?
