I'm afraid this is a complete myth. Nobody is sure where it came from, although there is a suspicion it was from a now largely discredited set of experiments on the brains of rats that was badly misunderstood and misrepresented in some press account. Wherever it came from, it has no basis whatsoever in fact. Please don't perpetuate it.
