I called to ask Rod if we could hit some tennis balls. He is playing doubles already, so it wouldn't work out.

I talked to him about receiving his "New World Order..." paper. We discussed a number of topics contained.

I told him I was having trouble with the opening page of the paper. He immediately told me that I was not paying attention to the most important items contained. I felt like he was not listening to me.

Once we got through that, we talked about the PMI organization. This discussion helped me put the article into perspective.

We talked about how decisions are made in the corporate world--with "common, accepted knowledge" that may not be accurate or as relevant as if the executive utilized a librarian.

We have differing views of executives: Rod believes that execs are overburdened, and therefore do not have the time to tap into the proper information repositories. I believe that execs are the least burdened people in most complex organizations.

I will finish the article and commit my notes to a document similar to this one. Then Rod and I can have a more sophisticated discussions about said topic

We are going to try to play tennis tomorrow, but it will have to be early.

Sincerely,

Merrill Malvini Jr.
