Subject:   SDS file names, locations

Rod,

I went through the Typical Day Scenario, and it indeed implies many operational requirements that are not evident from the other documents. I will investigate the rest of the documents shown on the publications page to see what they might add.
..
I am looking at collaboration requirements for SDS and have some questions. The Scenario document makes several references to sharing SDS records. Since the records are files, I could see this being done on any LAN id the access permissions were set up correctly. Am I correct that this is not a feature of the current program?
..
I can see what part of the file names are, but have questions about the rest:

..
-- base directory
..
08/00101/02/ -- ??? - This looks like some extra classification, but I can't decipher the significance,
..
97/09/10/ -- yy/mm/dd

162354.HTM -- hhmmss.HTM
..
It is clear that private file names follow a different pattern.
..
Sharing makes for a *very* nice feature, but it is far from easy to do.
..
In the meantime, can you shed any light on the directory structures used?

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Garold (Gary) L. Johnson
