Subject:   SDS Use at DCMA and Education Initiative

Dear Rod,

As you requested, here is the stuff I talked about today.

  1. Call Patsy O'Burn to broach the subject of capturing the record, and its use in the context of predicting delivery performance and enhancing our customer's ability to make business decisions.

  2. Speak to Bill Callahan, Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) about the need to capture "the record" and ways of exploiting the material that resides in the ACO's files.

  3. Reacquaint myself with Jim Balinskas, through a variety of ways (personal note, calls, e-mail)

  4. Send the address for the Defense Systems Management College (DSMC)

    http://www.dsmc.dsm.mil

....with a proposed entree. On the DSMC Faculty Research Projects page, within the DSMC home page....

    http://www.dsmc.dsm.mil/research/resproj.htm

.....is a complete list of ongoing and recently completed faculty research projects.

One particular project, The Defense Program Management Body of Knowledge (PM-R-01) (Combined with PML-R-01), has a familiar ring to those dealing with the Program Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) The names and e-mail address of the primary DSMC faculty members involved in the project is Bill Bahnmaier, mailto:bahnmaier_bill@dau.mil or phone (703) 805-4980.

ROD - You may want to explain how SDS fits into the PMBOK, and suggest a telephone call to him at some convenient time.

Thanks again for the call

Sincerely,

Stuart Harrow

I don't personally know Bill Bahnmaier, so the e-mail would be introductory, in that your affiliation with the Project Management Institute (PMI) may help.
