Subject:   SDS system and philosophy

Dear Mr. Welch,

I am extremely impressed with the concept and realization that you have created with your SDS/DKR system. I can see immediately how much confusion and rework it would prevent here in our business environment (although I am not sure it would be easy to convince management of that :^).

I have been browsing your site excitedly for many hours now trying to get a good idea of how the system operates, and can see that you have put a great deal of effort and time into implement something I have frequently pondered and flirted with - how to create a system that could effectively manage tasks, priorities, and all related knowledge base information and documents in an integrated fashion.

I can see from browsing your site what sort of output is created, but would like to know more about how the content is created- what the SDS system 'automates', versus what must be done by manually. What would be the best way for me to get an idea of how records are created, tasks managed, information cross-referenced, etc.?? Is there some way to get a demo. version or user documentation that describes the usage of the product.

Also, I saw several mentions of the possibility of an open-source development effort. If you are seeking programmers to assist in this, I would like to offer whatever services I might be able to as I have a deep interest in working on a system of this nature and have experience with several languages, database systems, html, etc.

Thanks for your time, keep up the great work!

Sincerely,
