Meeting on Com Metrics with Clff Joslyn, LANL |
Rod,
Many thanks. I met Cliff at Virtual Worlds 2000 and it turns out he suggested a dissertation topic that my friend Howard Liu just might pick up on. Howard is a recent recruit to the DKR project, an ABD in pure mathematics. I befriended him several years ago simply based on my belief that mathematics may hold some keys we haven't found yet in the KR arena.
In fact, I would love to attend, and to talk more (only at the non proprietary level) about your work;
the SRI group does need to pay more attention to you, but then you need to find a way to present yourself in a way that they are not isolated by your needs to generate revenue by means of your particular genius.
I would like Howard to be involved as well.
It would appear that I have been joined by Henry van Eiken in saying that atomic structures ain't gonna cut it. Sandy Klausner has joined with some literate contributions, but he, like you, has a proprietary understructure. Like you, he will soon run into the vast stone wall of the gift economy at work.
BTW: I have been hammering on Eric to lighten up, toss out his biases, and so forth. Watch him; he does appear to listen to me.
Cheers
Sincerely,
Jack
