Dear Morris,
Yesterday a technician examined CPU11, following up the problem you and I discussed on Tuesday. Eventually, the system was restored to working order; but, the technician recommends consideration to replace the ASUS mainboard, with an Intel board. If you have time, please comment on the record of service to see if anything stands out as the cause of problems. On February 12 the mouse failed, and the keyboard to a lessor extent. This latest failure of the entire system, seems to suppor the tech's recommendation, since there is not a good explanation for the failures, nor for the current working condition.
As you can see from the record, the technician suggests upgrading to an Intel mainboard that supports Pentium IIIs, and, also, accepts the 450Mhz Pentium II, now in CPU11. I guess my question is which board to buy for $150 plus or minus. Has a particular Intel product spec been shown to be relatively more reliable and faster? Stated another way, which would you buy, and why?
Thanks.
Sincerely,
THE WELCH COMPANY
